Is society to lenient on religion?

I don't believe that American society is too lenient with regard to religion. I love the freedom we are given in the United States to believe what we want to and to associate with people with similar beliefs. I do not want my behavior to be controlled by those who hold beliefs that are dissimilar to mine. Live and let live is my motto. :)
